A Twiztid Interview: 13 1/2 Questions

Now everyone knows that I like guest posts, y’all also know I don’t get many, but when I do I post them to share with all that will read them. It’s true, Holley @ Chasing Destino approached me about posting an interview with Twiztid that she believed would be appreciated by myself and all of the readers here.

And so, the interview starts now!

It finally happened. I had the opportunity to ask the group Twiztid anything that I wanted. Madrox was kind enough to tell me what I wanted to know.

So here are the answers that I have been waiting for this month. Now I don’t have to haunt anyone like in Mary Lou in Prom Night II.

1. When did you start rapping? What is it that made you stick with it?

Madrox: Whoa that was a mighty long mutha-fuckin time ago. I would say the early 1990’s. We used to have a bunch of friends over our house on the weekends and one of the kids worked at a studio and would borrow equipment and set it up in our living room. We would get all wasted and just rhyme to beats. It was funny cause we really didn’t have any idea what we were doing and more importantly really weren’t very good at it.

2. Do you still enjoy Halloween?

Madrox: Absolutely, Halloween is the best! I’m a big kid at heart and I will always luv all the leaves changing orange, the cool night air, the pumpkin carving, the delicious candy and all of the scary ghost stories. Those aspects of Halloween will never grow old for me.

3. What is Fright Fest?

Madrox: Fright Fest is our Annual Halloween Celebration! Halloween has always been special to us and we decided to dedicate a specific themed tour event around that for everything Halloween! It starts off at Rock&Shock in Worcester, Mass and makes its creepy way around the nation until we bring it home to Detroit for Devil’s Night then it’s on to Joliet, IL. for Halloween itself! It’s definitely not an event to miss so if it happens to creep through your neck of the woods… do yourself a favor and come out and celebrate with us.

4. What is your favorite scary movie?

Madrox: I have so many, but currently this month I’m really digging Night of the Demons from1988, directed by Kevin Tenney. That movie has always been in my top 10 and every now and again I watch it back to back for a straight month… and this October is that month!

5. What is your favorite comic book?

Madrox: Of course, I have to say Batman… he is after all the focal point of all things comics and Super-Heroes to me, but a Jamie Madrox comic book fun fact is that the only comic book series I ever really read continuously was Todd McFarlane’s original Spawn run. Good stuff Todd!

6. If you could take anyone on tour to make a Dream Team tour who would you take?

Madrox: There are a few acts I would name for my dream tour… it would be Twiztid, our homie Rob Zombie, Korn, Slipknot, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, and HOK… that would be a stellar dream line up to me!

7. Is there anyone that you would like to work with?

Madrox: I’d like to work with Rick Ruben, I love what he brings out of bands, for example the Black Sabbath 13 record was amazing. I’d love to hear his ideas or take on a Twiztid record … that would rule.

8. Are there any topics that are off-limits?

Madrox: Yes of course. Lol

9. Can you describe your fans to me?

Madrox: Sure, but we don’t have fans we have family! We call them that because much like a family… together we are represented as one, tightly woven together like a extremely supportive wicked blanket of awesomeness. We luv the FAM as we call ’em and constantly let them know that without them there would be no us, and for that we are eternally thankful!

10. Do you embrace the term ‘juggalo’?

Madrox: Sure. Like heritage or nationality, I cannot change what I am. Nor do I want to… so I’m an Italian/Polish/Juggalo word life!

11. What do you think of the Wasco Clown that has been taking Instagram photos in California?

Madrox: I don’t think anything about it cause I have no idea what the fuck you’re talking about.

12. How excited are you to do a hometown show?

Madrox: About as excited as I am for any opportunity that me and my brother get to take the stage and play for the FAM… it’s always an honor!

13. Does anything scare you?

Madrox: Yes… I am terrified of carbonation and velvet, I hate the feel of it. It makes my skin crawl.

P.S. Madrox –Google the Wasco Clown on Instagram. It is creepy but I can’t stop looking at the pictures. Seriously, you will not be disappointed. Maybe you should take him on tour.

Bitches don’t like to be stood up!

“The Suspense Is Killing Me!”

Can you believe I was stood up for a phone interview? I’ve been stood up twice this week by the same group – Twiztid. So you mean to tell me that of all the people on Twiztid’s tour bus that not one single person has a phone? I don’t buy it. Almost everyone on the planet has a phone.  Homeless people have phones. Six year old kids have phones.  But not Twiztid? No way.

I realize that I just have a small blog. I also realize that they have a busy schedule. But you know who else has a busy schedule? Me.  Three kids, work and a blog = busy. Not to mention that I could have been doing more interesting things with my boyfriend. He made some guacamole for me so I could keep up my strength while waiting. He also hasn’t stood me up yet, which is why he is still around. That and the guacamole.

For this interview, I rearranged my schedule so that I could be ready. Instead, I feel like I have been stood up for the prom or something.  I was totally ready to be shocked and scared. It seemed like a good time to start conquering my fear of men in masks.

And then my phone didn’t ring. And still hasn’t rung. No emails. No tweets.

Scorp Sting and I also made arrangements to post the interview on his blog as a guest post. So since that seems to have fallen through, I’m going to do this bit of ranting instead.

It just seems like a bad way to do business.

Is Jesus In The Hearts Of Strippers?

The following paragraphs were sent to me via email by a young lady I know who wishes her identity remain concealed for the time being. Fair enough. It was not stated where she acquired the story from so I am a little leery posting it, but it is an interesting story which I wanted to share because people have predetermined conclusions about strippers and their lifestyles. In the past I have written about Jesus and God and the role they sometimes play in a strippers mind which were based solely on conversations I had with a young lady from a small church group who wanted to bring strippers into their place of worship. I think this article might have something to do with that group because it all sounds very familiar. This post is generally not something I would touch but since I have some personal experiences I think it will all work out just fine. Let it be known that the opinions held below are not if my own and I neither affirm or decline them since I will remain neutral. However, at the end of the post I will make my remarks and my opinions, neither which will be entirely based in the words written by this person. Its definitely an interesting point of view, so please enjoy.

“Those words, “Jesus Loves Strippers”, written in big, pink, girly letters, graced the front of a little black book small enough to fit in a purse. Inside were the Gospel of John and several testimonies of people formerly in the sex industry who had been radically saved by Jesus. The book lay there conspicuously among the lipsticks, nail polishes, eye shadows, and other goodies we had arranged on the counter for the women to sift through and choose from. The woman who finally chose the book was actually the last person in the dressing room of that strip club I had expected would interact with our outreach team.

“Am I Less Than?” She was rocking some seriously toned arms, had an extremely tough countenance, and was putting off a definite “don’t-mess-with-me” vibe. So when she picked up the book and started asking us questions, I was shocked. She tapped her finger on the word “loves” and boldly and sincerely asked our team, “Does He really? Am I less than to Him because of what I do?” A member of our team swooped in and immediately began telling her about how much God loves her and that He had sent us here to give her that very message. She didn’t know about the Savior because all the Christians she had encountered had joined right along with the world in demeaning her. She was expecting God to do the same.

Up until that point, she had only been met with condemnation from Christians who had chosen to degrade her character right alongside the men in the clubs who exploited her. She didn’t yet know about the Savior who sets us free; the Savior who convicts but never condemns; the Savior who loves her so immensely. She didn’t yet know the Father who created her and saw her as lovely; the Father who longs to be in relationship with her; the Father who longs to bless her; the Father who gave up and sacrificed His own Son so that He could have her as His own daughter. She didn’t know because no one had ever told her or shown her. She didn’t know because all the Christians she had encountered had joined right along with the world in demeaning her. She was expecting God to do the same.

A Better Answer. In rejecting sexual immorality, we have a tendency to also reject people who are enslaved by the spirit of lust and perversion, especially women and girls! Women and girls who are simply trying to survive in a pornified culture. Girls who don’t know the freedom found in Christ because we’ve not offered it to them. Women who look at the Church and see the same degradation found in the strip club. They feel demeaned and vilified for conforming to culture no matter where they turn. It’s completely understandable that they would choose, therefore, to stay within the context of culture rather than seek refuge in the Church. Popular culture is familiar and the Church doesn’t feel at all like a refuge. Christ is stirring His Bride to go after the lost daughters and shower them with His love and honor.

We have to have a better answer than that, and I believe we do! I’m on the front lines of this fight and I must tell you that I am beginning to see a huge shift in the way the Body of Christ is responding to women, and I’m so encouraged by it! Christ is stirring His Bride to go after the lost daughters and shower them with His love and honor. And from what I’ve seen, it works. The same woman who asked us if Jesus really did love her is now no longer working in the sex industry. But more important than that, she found out that, YES! He really does love her.

An Inventory of Our Hearts. I want to invite and urge each of us to take a sincere inventory of our own hearts. Ask yourself these questions:How do I really feel about the so-called “soiled” woman? Do I have God’s attitude toward her? What’s my first thought when I see a girl’s selfie in my Twitter feed that is not quite so G-rated? Do I judge her, or do I have compassion for her?How do I really feel about that promiscuous girl in my class? Do I keep my distance or am I open to God using me to show her His love?These are questions you must answer, because she’s asking you another question. She’s asking you, “Does He really love me?” Here’s a hint: God loves her as much as He loves you. Why not go show and tell her?”

So, what did we think? I like the line that she claims to be on the front lines of the battle. Really, what “battle”? As we all know I do not claim a particular faith and the way the person wrote this based on her beliefs is 75% percent why. To me, in my opinion, it is because of her judgment that she feels the stripper needs saving. Saved from what? Saved from a lifestyle Christians don’t approve of? I think if Christianity, god, and Jesus were all cracked up to be to match all the hype then the minions wouldn’t have to be out recruiting. But, I am probably wrong, I can only see the approach from the outside looking in. There is just so much that pisses me off about this article so I will probably leave it right here and call it the end before anybody gets their feelings hurt. I’m not Christian bashing, its just not the lifestyle for me personally.

Should I Even Call This Mess A “Blog”?

I suppose by “definition” what I have here could be considered to be a blog. Do you know the definition of blog? The simple version which concludes that a blog is a website where entries are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. Mine does that. I also do allot of Mobile blogging (moblogging), which is a method of publishing to a blog from a mobile phone. A moblog helps habitual bloggers (like myself) to post articles and pictures directly from their phones even when on the move. Mobile blogging has been made possible by technological convergence, as bloggers have been able to write, record and upload different media all from a single, mobile device. Mobile blogging is popular among people with camera phones which allow them to send photos and video that then appear as entries on their blog, or to use mobile browsers to publish content directly to any blogging platform with mobile posting compatibility. In the end, it is convenient because I can do when the moment arises or the thought crosses my mind. There are many advantages to being able to blog from anywhere and anytime. Mobile blogging is particularly helpful to travelers or people on the move when access to a computer with Internet connection may be difficult. The traveler can snap photos and with an enabled phone can easily upload such pictures with text descriptions directly to his or her blog. If the camera phone is equipped for Auto-geo-tagging, the blog may be able to show a map of the locations. With my new phone, (Motorola Droid Maxx),  which is less than a week old, has many new features which have been really exciting as far as being able to keep up with my blog and all the ones I try to visit regularly.

A majority of the blogs are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments and even message each other on the blogs, and it is this interactivity that distinguishes a blog from other static websites. In that sense, blogging can be seen as a form of social networking service. Indeed, bloggers do not only produce content to post on their blogs, but also build social relations with their readers and other bloggers throughout the world. Many blogs provide commentary on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries; others function more as online brand advertising of a particular individual or company. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. I think I’m still qualifying as a blog. The ability of readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important contribution to the popularity of many blogs.

People have different ideas when it comes to the length of post. Many people advocate keeping it short, however some of the best posts I’ve written or read have been long, some very very long. They were the best because they did not skim the subject so they gave real value and often told their story making it engaging by making a personal connection with me the reader. I believe that the posts that make that personal connection that resonates with the reader get more likes, more comments, and get shared more. Being I post allot of pictures here as well I often have very short posts because the “message” is self-contained in the picture.

Anyone who surfs the “net” can find that the blogosphere counts several million active blogs offering a great variety of topics and content. The wonderful aspect of a blog creation is that anyone who has a particular hobby, knowledge, passion or a business to promote, can easily do it, and they generally do. I guess, looking back, the danger is starting a blog without a specific plan, target group, and more importantly knowledge of content for which the blog was created. Good content is the most important factor of your blog since not only it is the key to attract readers and turn them to loyal followers but also to increase your internet exposure via the search engines. I don’t look for search engine exposure, meaning I don’t do anything on purpose which gives me a ranking or page position. People just find me one way or another. I follow some basic rules of engagement in order to produce what I consider to be successful content and, at the end of the day, achieve my blog’s goal which is to get read and encourage readers to return back to my blog. Let’s explore my general rules of engagement and guidelines.

The 10 Rules I blog by.

01. Define your blog and who you wish to target to read your blog. The 1^st thing to do is to organize your ideas and define the main topic which will define your blog’s identity.

• What do I want to write about today? The next day? 6 months from now?
• What is my target group of readers, follower, and visitors?
• What type of language should I use to communicate with my readers?

02. Make time to make posts.

• A blog needs time and efforts to stay permanently active and help you interact on a regular basis with your readers.
• Don’t risk losing your audience because of a lack of communication.

03. Take time to talk to your audience. Make them feel as though they can interact with you and make sure they get the interaction they are looking for.

• Having defined your target group of readers, you will need to write in the appropriate tone and style to attract their interest and understanding; imagine having a conversation with your audience and write clearly and simply as if you were talking to them.
• When I write, I write as if I am talking, whether just out-loud or physically to others.

04. Give your blog and posts a friendly and inviting format.

• Even if you believe your post is original and really interesting, if it comes in a big block of text, no one will take the time to read it; you need to provide the reader with a friendly post format by separating it into distinct and concise paragraphs, preceded by sub-headings when needed, use bullet points lists where needed (like here with what I’m doing), illustrate it with images, use bold or italics to point out your key elements and you’ll get your reader’s attention.

05. When starting a new post use eye catching and attractive titles.

• Once your post is written, take your time to come up with a fantastically eye catching title. Your title is how you’ll attract the readers repeatedly. It should directly inform the reader regarding what your post is about, a sort of “summary” of what he/she will read.

06. Be sure to use “tags” which will be effective in relation to your post.

• Ask yourself which terms are more likely to be used by users when they search for the particular topic.
• Then make sure you use the main keywords and come up with different variations that are likely to be searched when formulating your tags.
• Finally try to incorporate the “tag” words in the keywords of your post in order to increase the possibility to be found in the search engines.

07. Update your blog frequently to keep the content fresh and inviting.

• As mentioned earlier, you need to determine a time plan in order to frequently update your blog, ideally on a daily-basis.
• This will not only keep the attention of your readers but also it will help you attract more readers and loyal followers to your blog.
• The more content you produce the more traffic you are likely to get from your readers.

08. Use “social media” buttons to encourage your readers to share.

• There are many out there, I personally use Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, and Twitter.
• By setting up an RSS Feed and by encouraging your users to subscribe, you will increase your readers and you are more likely to get more returning visitors.
• Note that most Blogging engines automatically support RSS feeds, so all you need to do is to place their button in a strategic position in order to help readers subscribe.
• It doesn’t hurt to belong to a great blogging community either. My personal favorite is Blogcatalog!
• Additionally social media can drive you lots of traffic and they can help you build steady communication with your readers.
• Make sure you add sharing buttons in your blog and try to place them too in strategic positions to increase the number of shares.

09. Try to incorporate “how-to” and “top-10” posts on occasion to mix things up and keep the reader wondering what’s next.

• The how-to guides and the top-10 articles usually become very popular on social media networks.
• People love these articles and they are more likely to read them, like them, comment on them, and share them.
• Additionally by creating such content you are more likely to increase your search engine traffic since many surfers search for such content regularly.

10. I have found that proof reading and spell checking are valuable tools.

• This might be common sense but sometimes we can be so enthusiastic about a new post that we forget to take the time to proof read it.
• Remember that you may be listed and archived in the Internet along with your grammar, syntax or even informative mistakes.
• Don’t forget to be honest about what you share.
• If you have the patience to keep being an active blogger and creating good content, you will be surprised to see your audience growing and your blog getting the success it deserves.

I have learned over the years that my blog(s) tend to develop multiple personalities and sometimes I need to reel them back in. When I started here at WordPress I wanted to have one blog that expressed ALL of my ideas. I wanted one stop shopping. I combined 6 blogs to create The Sting Of The Scorpion which I feel know encompasses the message(s) I’m trying to express. My blog is very much a reflection of what mood I am in at any particular moment. In the end, it works for me and that results in more mileage for my blog. I am very dedicated to the upkeep and appearance of my blog. This keeps me active here which results in more posts for others to read.
